Let’s speak about trends, summer is almost here, what’s Hot?

What’s Hot…. Netting - This looks great on nails. This is done by putting down your base color acrylic and let dry, put a thin coat of clear acrylic and wait until it has a matt finish and place some netting or mesh over the top making an imprint and slowly peel netting off and let cure.
Next put your contrasting color over the top and let cure, when set file to revel an even netting finish. Also 3D art, most of my clients request 3D art when they come in for a rebalance. Sliding colors, from dark to light, blue to purple to pink, etc and Ice and crushed Shell art sculpted into clear acrylic looks great and will be very popular in summer.

Do you think toenails must match the fingernails color-wise?

Yes, sometimes when they are showing off both for a special occasion. But sometimes you can be a little bit braver on your toes with some wild nail art that you may not be able to wear on your hands, because of work etc.

My nutshell philosophy…. Well i believe you must always be honest even when you are wrong and be brave and choose that bright bold colour that’s going to make you stand out and people are going to look and point, you just have to hold you head high and be proud of the person you are.

If I wasn’t a manicurist I’d be…

I would be a Fashion Designer. I love to draw and sew and have made allot of my clothes form when i was young. Unfortunately when i was deciding what i wanted to do with my life this course wasn’t available so i want on and studied Child Care and worked in this field for 12 years.
I always did my own nails just as a hobby, so i decided to do the course just for fun and it grew into a very successful business which i love to bits.

A phrase I use all the time…

” OH that’s WICKED”, “OH MY GOODNESS”, “SHE’LL BE RIGHT”, It drives my daughter nuts.
